Want to be a video star?

By Paul Groves | 18 Apr, 2018
  • Will you be racing in Glasgow?
  • Want to be part of the build-up?
  • Brave enough to be on video?
  • Please read the invitation below from Mark Pryde, the PR Officer for the Glasgow 2018 European Championships

Hi there,

Next Tuesday (24 April) will mark 100 days to go until the start of the Glasgow 2018 European Championships.

To mark the occasion, we’d like to produce a short video featuring European & British athletes from across all 6 of our sports. The video will show athletes filming themselves saying ‘100 days to go’ in their own language, followed by a message of good luck to Glasgow and athletes hoping to qualify for the event (i.e. ‘Come on Glasgow!’ ‘See you soon Scotland’ ‘Not long until the action gets underway’) The video will then be edited together and will go out across Glasgow 2018 social media channels on the Tuesday morning.

Here’s an example of something similar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJLJHtY-Mz8

I understand that athletes are extremely busy with training & competition but any help you can give us would be greatly appreciated. Even one athletes from each sport would make us a nice video! Hopefully we can create something special that helps to raise excitement and awareness in Glasgow 2018 on what is a significant milestone for us.

We would need any video sent to us by Monday 23 April. I have attached a guidance note of how to take/send the videos attached.

Any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Thank you,

Mark Pryde
