Over 1,400 athletes from 23 countries set to compete from May 15–17 in a record-breaking and environmentally conscious event

The stage is set in Pamplona, Spain, as the city prepares to host the 2025 Europe Triathlon Middle Distance, Aquabike, and Aquathlon Championships. From May 15 to 17, the vibrant streets of Pamplona and the natural beauty of the Alloz Reservoir and Tierra Estella region will welcome more than 1,400 athletes from 23 nations, marking a decade of triathlon celebration with the 10th anniversary of the Half Triathlon Pamplona Iruña.
This milestone edition brings together elite and Age Group athletes across three European Championship events: Aquathlon, Middle Distance Triathlon, and Aquabike. It’s a historic moment not only for Pamplona but for the entire Navarre region, which continues to establish itself as a premier destination for international triathlon competition.

A Record-Breaking Turnout

This year’s event has officially reached capacity, reflecting the growing popularity and continental prestige of the Championships:

  • On May 15, more than 350 athletes will take to the start line for the European Aquathlon Championships.
  • On May 17, another 1,020 athletes will compete in the European Middle Distance Triathlon and Aquabike Championships.

With athletes from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, the UK, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Serbia, Slovakia, Sweden, and Ukraine, this is truly a celebration of European sport and unity.

Watch It Live on RTVE Play

Fans across Europe and beyond will have the opportunity to witness the drama unfold in real time. The European Middle Distance Triathlon elite race will be broadcast live on RTVE Play—Spanish National Television’s streaming platform—on Saturday, May 17, from 13:30 CEST.

This broadcast marks a major step forward in bringing the sport to broader audiences and offering visibility to the top European athletes competing at the highest level.

A Championship with a Sustainable Soul

In 2025, Europe Triathlon and the local organising committee will put sustainability at the heart of the event. A comprehensive set of environmentally conscious initiatives has been put in place to reduce impact and raise awareness:

  • Eco-friendly cups at all aid stations
  • Reusable cycling bottles provided to all participants
  • Dedicated waste collection zones across all race venues
  • An environmental education campaign targeting athletes, spectators, and the broader community

Athletes are encouraged to lead by example by respecting nature and the urban environment that makes this race experience so unique.

Pamplona Breathes Triathlon

With its perfect mix of historic charm and natural landscapes, Pamplona offers the ideal setting for a multisport festival of this magnitude. As race week kicks off, the city is already buzzing with international energy, welcoming athletes, families, and fans from across the continent.
From the swim in the stunning Alloz Reservoir, to the bike through the rolling hills of Tierra Estella, to the run through the heart of Pamplona’s old town, the 2025 European Championships in Pamplona promise unforgettable moments.
We wish all participants the very best of luck and invites fans to follow along—whether on site or via the live broadcast. Let’s make this championship one for the history books.
