The 2021 Europe Cross Triathlon and Cross Duathlon Championships are set to return to Italy this September. The race also doubles up as the inaugural XTERRA Trentino Dolomiti Paganella. Friday it will take place the XTerra European Cross Duathlon Championships and Sunday the XTerra European Cross Championships.

The athletes participating will swim in one of the most beautiful lakes in Italy and ride the trails connecting the towns of Molveno and Andalo. Both run courses will develop through spectacular forests, waterfalls and the Andalo Life Park. For the athletes it will be a showcase of their technical skills as they contend for the European Titles as well as for the coveted XTERRA World Championship slots for Maui.

The President of Europe Triathlon Renato Bertrandi in his welcome message to the athletes said “The municipalities of Molveno and Andalo in the heart of Brenta Dolomites are the perfect location for off-road duathlon and triathlon racing.
It’s a paradise for the outdoor enthusiast and offers the perfect infrastructure.
I am delighted the 2021 European Champs of Cross Triathlon and Duathlon have been assigned to XTERRA.
Europe Triathlon has for many years enjoyed good collaborations with other professional organizers and we are happy to start this new experience with XTerra”.

Molveno is a very popular tourist destination and the lake with its crystal-clear waters is the ideal location to spend a family holiday, or for sports passionate people. Located 40 kilometres from Trento, on the shores of the enchanting lake and is part of the Adamello-Brenta National Park. In 2019, Lake Molveno won the title of the most beautiful Italian lake for the sixth time.
During the summer you can windsurf in the lake, play tennis, paraglide, you can swim, can enjoy stand up paddle, canoeing or walk along the shores of the lake. If, on the other hand, you love hiking or mountain biking, you can follow the Dolomiti Brenta Trek and Dolomiti Brenta Bike routes, which will lead you to the heart of the Brenta Dolomites, a UNESCO world heritage site.
And then, if you love spending your days at high altitude, from the town, the new cable car will take you comfortably to the Pradel plateau, where you can find the adventure trails of the Forest Park, which the children will adore.

Andalo At 1040 meters above sea level, 40 km away from the city of Trento you can find Andalo, a lovely mountain town between the peaks of Brenta Dolomites and the pine forests of the Paganella mount.
A distinctive feature of Andalo is its historical heritage: the 14 independent “masi’’ have developed over time and have led to the creation of an excellent tourist centre, that is nowadays able to offer a wide range of accommodation facilities. But not only, Andalo, owing to its efficient and modern infrastructures, successfully meets the demands of a variety of tourists by means of an exhaustive offering: the perfect mix of relaxation, sports and entertainment activities.
Thanks to its location at the feet of Mount Piz Galin and Mount Paganella, Andalo is ideally suited for both summer and winter activities: especially for hiking, mountain biking, horse riding and many other exciting activities in summer, and skiing on Mount Paganella’s ski slopes in the winter season.
Last but not least, Andalo is a truly family-friendly tourism destination, as it offers a wide range of activities specifically designed for kids.
