Europe Triathlon has virtually met with the National Federations today to present the race calendar for 2021, as well as the new logo and branding that will be implemented, as well the elections of World Triathlon which ended with a save the date for the Europe Triathlon Elections in 2021.
Europe Triathlon was happy to see the enthusiasm of National Federations and LOC’s regarding the 2021 calendar. There has been a fantastic response and a large number of bids were received as as the 2021 calendar will be offering 27 events taking place in 18 different countries Additionally, having already long term agreements with Powerman and the Challenge family, a new link with another organization, Xterra, has been established as they will organise the 2021 Cross Triathlon and Cross Duathlon Championships. The 2021 Triathlon Standard Distance Championship (Elite & Age group) and Sprint Distance (Para + Age Group) as well as the Duathlon Standard Distance (Age group) and Sprint distance (Juniors, U23, Elite and Para) Championships will take place, Europe Triathlon is still looking for an organizer and hope to give an update on the venue and date of the event by the beginning of December.

The 2021 Europe Triathlon Cup will consist of 9 events and take place in 8 different countries. This will include 1 Supersprint Distance Race, 7 Sprint Distance Races, and 1 Standard Distance Race. While the 2021 Europe Triathlon Junior Cup will be made up of 16 events taking place in 15 different countries, and will include 5 Supersprint Distance Races and 11 Sprint Distance Races.

In addition to this, Europe Triathlon can also provide a preview to some of the races in 2022. The standard distance elite triathlon will take place in Munich/GER, the triathlon Youth Championship Festival will take place in Zagreb/CRO, the Multisport Festival will take place in Bilbao/ESP, and lastly, the XVI Summer European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) will be held in Banská Bystrica/SVK. For the first time Triathlon will be part of the EYOF which is a huge step forward for the next generation athletes.
Before moving to the World Triathlon elections. The new branding of Europe Triathlon was introduced. Recently, the European Triathlon Union had a change in name to Europe Triathlon and additionally, got a new logo. 2021 will be used as a transition year to implement the new branding, however, the aim of course is to have this almost fully implemented by the start of the season.
The session ended with the World Triathlon Elections. Europe was active and was represented by 57 nominees from 17 federations. Furthermore, the date and venue for the Europe Triathlon was announced. The event will be hosted in La Nucia on 6 and 7 March 2021. Europe Triathlon is hoping that by then it will be possible to meet, however there will certainly be a hybrid solution that includes both face to face and virtual.
