The Europe Triathlon Winter Championships in Cheile Gradistei that was scheduled to take place on the weekend of 5 February 2021 has been postponed to the weekend of 13 and 14 March 2021.

Vlad Stoica Triathlon the Romania Triathlon President remains positive and ensure a great event. “To adapt is the new norm of these challenging times, and once again we need to prove that we can do it because our priority is to have a safe and fair race for everyone. Even if the date is changed we promise great racing conditions and a quality event. Don’t worry about the snow, we can have enough  even if there  will be 20 degrees Celsius”

Herwig Grabner Chair of the Race Commission in Europe triathlon said.

“Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic has us firmly under control in more or less whole Europe. Therefore it was a joint decision of the organizer and Europe Triathlon to move the Championship as far as possible in the spring. We would like to give as many athletes as possible the chance to start at the Winter Triathlon Championships and we hope that the travel restrictions will be better by mid-March. Thanks to the organizers and President Vlad Stoica for the professional teamwork. We are convinced that we can experience great Championships in Romania in mid-March.“

The circumstances we are currently facing remains challenging, however, the team and the Romain national federation remains positive and look forward to a great event!
