Rising Stars and elite races in Caorle

The sun-soaked shores of Caorle once again played host to an electrifying display of athleticism and determination at this year’s Europe Triathlon Cup and Junior Cup. On the 13th of May, the coastal town was abuzz with excitement as athletes from across Europe travelled to the small town close to Venice to compete in a series of races.

Elite Battles

In the elite category, spectators were treated to nail-biting showdowns as athletes pushed themselves to the limit. Alessio Crociani of Italy emerged as the victor in the men’s race, showcasing incredible skill and determination throughout the gruelling course. He was closely followed by France’s Jules Rethoret and Nathan Grayel, who put up a good fight on the run to claim their spots on the podium. Meanwhile, in the women’s elite race, Alissa König of Switzerland stole the show with a strong performance, crossing the finish line ahead of her competitors. Germany’s Franka Rust and Robin Dreijling of the Netherlands battled fiercely for second and third place, adding an extra layer of excitement to the race.

Rising Stars

The junior races provided their fair share of thrills, with our Rising Stars showcasing their skills on the international stage. An attack on the bike in the men’s race saw Antoine L’Hote and Erik Grande dismount the bike with a 15 sec lead. Lorenzo Pelliciardi of Italy emerged victorious in the junior men’s category, delivering a stellar performance that left spectators in awe. Tristan Douche of France and Carol Popa of Romania displayed remarkable talent, securing their spots on the podium in a fiercely contested race. In the junior women’s race, it was a familiar face that stole the spotlight once again. Manon Laporte of France delivered a masterful performance, cementing her status as one of the Rising Stars of the sport. Léa Houart and Lisa Lecompte, also hailing from France, showcased their talent and determination, claiming second and third place respectively.

Team Triumphs

The mixed team relay junior race added an extra element of excitement to the competition, with teams battling it out for victory  in a thrilling display of teamwork and athleticism. Italy emerged victorious, showcasing exceptional coordination and skill to claim the top spot on the podium. Switzerland put up a valiant fight but ultimately had to settle for second place, while Belgium celebrated their first-ever junior relay medal with a third-place finish.

As the sun set on another successful edition of the Europe Triathlon Cup and Junior Cup, anticipation began to build for the next event. With each passing year, the competition continues to grow in stature, attracting top talent from around Europe and thrilling audiences with its amazing displays of athleticism. As athletes begin to set their sights on future challenges, one thing is certain – the spirit of Caorle will continue to shine brightly, showcasing the path for generations of triathletes to come.
