Europe Triathlon

A new year and a new season is upon us and we’re ready to see records being beaten, history re-written and racing more exciting than ever before. And what better way to kick the European season off with the Liévin triathlon indoor festival, without a doubt one of the most visually thrilling events of the year! Featuring an extremely fast pace and short course format of 150m swim, 3km bike and 1km run, the 120 athletes will also have to race their way up from quarter finals up to the final 12 and you can be assured the heat will be on as this race also counts as a European Cup! If this isn’t enough, they threw in DJs, light shows, fireworks, world-renowned athletes, spectators very close and even closer racing. Located in the commune of Liévin in the Pas-De-Calais department in Northern France, the venue is the largest sports hall north of Paris and can host up to 5000 spectators and the event offers a race for everyone, from an enterprise triathlon, to school races and open races for all.

The entire  LIEVIN TRIATHLON INDOOR FESTIVAL team said:

“Dear triathletes, this time, it’s official, the Liévin Indoor Triathlon European Cup is coming back and will take place on Saturday March 12, 2022! Thus, after multiple postponements linked to COVID 19, we are to date, given the health measures taken by the French government, able to welcome you to make you experience a totally atypical sports competition! The first edition of the Indoor Triathlon European Cup was a real success thanks to you. To date, nearly 4000 spectators are waiting for you with the desire to encourage you and bring you to the maximum! New arrangements have been put in place by the organization team, which is working hard to put you in the best possible position. A 3-hour live TV broadcast on the biggest sports channel in France is also scheduled, as well as on various social networks. Only one constraint for competitors: the obligation to be vaccinated (vaccination pass). We are counting on you to launch this 2022 season in the most beautiful way! Be well and see you very soon! We have blocked the rooms of the Arena Stade Couvert for your arrival, these are offered to you at the rate of 51 euros in full board or 41 euros in half board. The organization takes care of the Saturday lunch for the athletes”. The event was organized for a first time in 2019 and due to covid canceled in 2020 and 2021, but it is finally back!!

In a 25-meter swimming pool especially set up for the event, the best European triathletes will be able to test themselves by running over very short distances. The show will take place in front of over 5,000 spectators heated by a DJ and breathtaking shows. This type of race format generates very rhythmic races so that the winner is known only in the last meters. The 5 series of 12 triathletes will allow all the racers to do from 2 to 4 races to reach the final and put their name on the list of winners.
