Fanni Szalai continued her impressive season with victory at the latest Europe Triathlon Cup stop in Rzeszów, securing her second Europe Cup gold medal of the year following her success in Monte Gordo.

The Hungarian was once again among the leading athletes out of the water, exiting the swim in third place to comfortably make the lead group.

Once onto the run, however, Szalai proved untouchable. Her 16:37 5km split was the fastest of the day and handed her a commanding victory in Poland.

The result adds to an already impressive campaign that has also seen her record a gold medal in Italy.

Konig claimed the silver medal after pulling clear of Spain’s Alejandra Seguí Soria in the closing stages of the run.

Seguí Soria secured the bronze medal, improving on her fourth-place finish in Olsztyn the previous weekend.

In the Elite Men's race, Austria’s Jelle Kaindl produced an outstanding performance to secure his first international senior victory.

Kaindl's transitions proved vital for the race with his T1 being the fastest of the day and his T2 being the second fastest of the day it allowed him to move into the run in a strong position.

Kaindl lead the field with a 15:08 5km split proving enough to secure victory ahead of Berling Grande.

After winning silver in Olsztyn a week earlier, Great Britain's Solomon Okrafo-Smart added another medal to his collection.

The Brit held off a strong challenge from Belgium's Joris Basslé during the run to secure the bronze medal and a second consecutive Europe Cup podium finish.
