With no Junior races scheduled in Rzeszów, all focus is set on the elite athletes, who will get one last chance to race at European level ahead of the Europe Triathlon Championships in Tarragona this weekend.
After winning silver in Olysztyn last weekend, Solomon Okrafo-Smart will look to upgrade his medal this week in Rzeszów.
With the two races taking place on back-to-back weekends, a number of athletes will compete in both events, including Finland’s Veikka Saren, who finished sixth last week in a strong field.
A large group of Polish athletes will take to the start line in the Elite Men’s race, with 15 athletes competing on home soil.
Italy also bring a strong contingent to the race, with eight athletes entered.
After recording two top-10 finishes over the sprint distance this season, Hungary’s Zalán Hóbor will look to build on his fifth-place finish in Caorle at the start of May.
Alissa Konig will look to replicate the success of her fellow Swiss athletes from last week in Olysztyn as she lines up wearing the number one bib.
Last week’s silver medallist María Casals Mojica will aim to secure another podium finish in Poland this weekend, but she faces a tough challenge from Monte Gordo gold medallist and Hungarian prospect Fanni Szalai.
Fellow Spaniard Alejandra Seguí Soria will also look to claim a medal this weekend after narrowly missing out last week with a fourth-place finish in Olysztyn.
