Elbląg, Poland to Host the 2026 Europe Triathlon Sprint & Relay Championships

Europe Triathlon is delighted to announce that Elbląg, Poland, a city with a rich history of hosting international triathlon events, will once again join the calendar as the venue for the 2026 European Triathlon Sprint & Relay Championships. Scheduled for the 31st of July and 1st of August 2026, the event will bring together Europe’s best athletes for two days of thrilling racing in one of Poland’s oldest and most charming cities.

Elbląg’s urban setting, historic atmosphere, and scenic waterways make it a perfect stage for high-level competition. The upcoming 2026 Championships will coincide with a special moment for the city, which will celebrate the 780th anniversary of receiving its city rights.

Poland’s Triathlon Legacy Continues

The 2026 edition marks another proud moment for Poland and its growing triathlon community. Following successful past events in Elbląg, this will be the second time in Poland’s history that the country hosts the European Triathlon Championships.

"I am incredibly proud that Poland will have the honor of hosting the European Triathlon Championships," said Paweł Młynarczyk, President of the Polish Triathlon Federation (PZTRI). "This is the second time in our country's history that we will host such a prestigious event, and also the first time we will be able to witness competition in an Olympic discipline such as relays. I am confident that we will be up to the task of organizing it, and that Polish athletes will perform very well on home soil."

Event delivery will be led by Labosport Polska, a trusted and long-standing partner of Europe Triathlon. Over the years, our organisations have successfully collaborated on numerous events, consistently delivering high operational standards and ensuring strong alignment with Europe Triathlon regulations and expectations. Their proven experience working closely with local authorities and PZTRI further reinforces a solid and reliable delivery framework for this event.

The Local Organising Committee in Elbląg, together with Europe Triathlon and the Polish Triathlon Federation, is now working on finalising race courses, schedules, and logistics. Detailed information on registration, formats, and side activities will be shared through Europe Triathlon’s official channels in the coming months.
