Europe Triathlon

For the first time Wels in Austria is holding a Continental Cup, and is joining the European circuit Cup for this season. The event date is 27th of June, and there will also be an “open race” for beginners and amateur triathletes who want to enjoy a wonderful day of sport.
The swim is to take place on the SilberHolz in the Traun, and people will be able to cheer their favorite athletes on the run course because it develops entirely in the city centre.
Sunday, 27th of June, the men’s start is at 10:00 and the women’s start at 10:45.
Thomas Alt, the race organiser said “we are proud to host a European Cup for the first time at the Starlim City Triathlon in Wels. We are very happy to welcome the Europe Family and especially the European youngsters”.
In this season Austria is a protagonist in the Europe Family because of its many events taking place in this gorgeous land, it will also be a great chance for the athletes selected by their own Federations to race continuously in the same Nation.

The events will be the following:
18 - 20 June Europe Triathlon Sprint and relay Championship in Kitzbühel
24, June the Europe Aquathlon Championships in Walchsee;
27, June the Europe Junior Triathlon Cup;
27, June the Europe Triathlon Challenge Middle Distance Championships Walchsee;
27, June the Europe Aquabike Championships Walchsee
The Mayor of the city of Wels Dr Andreas Rabl was indeed satisfied of the new possibility and added “we are very proud that the Europe’s triathlon élite athletes are coming to our city. The organisation of a race in this special moment will certainly be a challenge, but we are confident and can draw on many years of experience in hosting other major sport events “.
We are very delighted to give to the young triathletes a possibility to compete and to put in practice their hard trainings.
