Norway hosted its first ever ITU Technical Officials course on the first weekend in February in Oslo.
A total of 13 participants, nine from the host country and others from Belarus, Finland, Czech Republic, attended the two day course under the guidance of Thanos Nikopoulos, ITU’s Technical Operations Manager.
Oliver Dag, Secretary General for the Norwegian Triathlon Federation, said: “This is a major step for our team in Norway, both in regards to the support these guys do domestically as well as the support we can supply to other international events.
“This is also a very important step on the way to hosting international events in Norway. It was also very valuable for our team with the international participants joining the course in Oslo, both for building new friendships and learning from each other. Cross border collaboration is very important.”
