It’s time for the spectacular Long Distance Challenge Roth!

Sunday 5th of September will take place the world famous and world record breaking course. The Long Distance Race Challenge Roth in Germany. The event will have about 3,400 individual participants and 650 Relay Teams coming from more than 80 different nations. There will be competing high-class athletes and around 260,000 spectators along the race course and at the triathlon stadium will be watching the event.


This is the Long Distance DATEV Challenge Roth: the world’s biggest long distance triathlon competition. The race has long become a legend: The famous triathlon festival in the European triathlon town of Roth has been taking place for more than three decades. The first edition was organised in 1984!
The competition starts with a 3.8 kilometers swim in the Main-Donau- Canal, followed by a 180 kilometers bike race and a marathon run of 42 kilometers. The unbelievable world’s best time was established by Jan Frodeno in 2016 in 7h 35 minutes and 39 seconds!


Roth will experience a spectacular high-class sport event. At the same time, DATEV Challenge Roth is a big family festival, including a great surrounding program with many different activities as triathlon expo at the Roth Triathlon Park from Thursday to Monday, a NightRun, a Junior Challenge and a Challenge for all, a Challenge Women run and a Finish-Line Party on race day. DATEV Challenge Roth starts at 6.30 a.m. with the swim in the Main-Donau- Canal (near the Hilpoltstein landing stage) and will finish with a spectacular fireworks display at the Roth triathlon stadium at 11 p.m.
