Hanquinquant and Rodriguez win gold in an impressive race in Tokyo!

It was a magical day for Spaniard Susana Rodriguez who in Tokyo, decided that this one was her day to remember forever. She has shown extraordinary performances since 2019 and she was win everything since then, except for a DNF in Funchal 2019. She wanted gold and she made it!



Rodriguez ride and then run completely solo to claim the victory in 1h07’15’‘, behind her Anna Barbaro and her guide Charlotte Bonnie proved to be a top athlete and claimed a magnificent silver, that is the best result of her career so far. An incredible last kilometer gave Anneouck Curzillat the bronze medal.

The three times World Champion and European Champion, French Alexis Hanquinquant is the new Paralympic Champion in the PTS4 class at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. While Spaniard Alejandro Sanchez Palomero claimed bronze.


Today was just incredible”, said Hanquinquant after crossing the finish line. “Today was a really hard day, with the humidity. To swim and to bike was OK, but on the run I really struggled. This is a dream for me. The people here in Japan are fantastic, always supporting. Thank you so much to everyone, and I hope to repeat this in Paris”, he said in the after race interview to World Triathlon.
