Behrens and Graf are European Junior Champions 2021 in Kitzbühel

What an incredible day for everyone in Kitzbühel at the European Champ! In the early morning the FINAL B Junior Women in which right from the beginning Klive (GER) and Suchomel (SWE) and Sysoeva (RUS) were leading the water exit and first to exit t1, followed by chasing athlete Dreylung (NED) and Firsova (RUS). After first bike lap a leading group of 10 formed and 10 seconds behind a  chasing group of 9 was trying to catch them. The leading group reached T2 and Klive was very determined and was the one to leave transition in first, followed by Plaszynska (POL), Possberg (SUI), Koglbauer (AUT), Zwicky (SUI), Sysoeva (RUS) and Suchomel ( SWE), Dreyling (NED) and Sonja de Koning (NED). After lap 1 on the run Klive (GER), Suchomel (SWE) and Dreyling (NED) were the leading athletes followed 15 seconds behind by Koglbauer (AUT), Plaszynska (POL) and Sysoeva (RUS) and Swicky (SUI) and Peszleg (HUN) and Santos (POR) who was trying to catch up. Final B was won by Linn Suchomel (SWE) followed by Robin Dreyling (NED) and Dominika Peszleg (HUN).
In the FINAL B Junior men after the swim a leading group of 7 with Bastrakov (RUS), Kóvacs and Kropkó (HUN), Rojtas (SVK), Ludwiczak (FRA), Bellido Mikhailova (ESP) and Horstrup Sahlberg (DEN) with the chasing group 15 seconds behind. In second lap the chasing group reunited with them and arrived all together in T2. First athlete to leave transition was Howard (GBR), followed by  Bellido (ESP), Sherman (GBR), Dedobbelaereraf (BEL) and the rest of the group. After a very fast 1 lap leading athletes were Bellido (ESP), Howard and Sheldon and Sheridan (GBR), Kovács (HUN) and Tlamka (CZE). Final B junior men was won by Matt Sheldon (GBR), second place for Igor Bellido Mikhailova (ESP) and in third Oliver Hostrup Sahlberg (DEN) who did a stunning 2nd lap on the run.
In Final A junior women first athlete to reach T1 was Denzot (FRA) together with Kropkó (HUN) and Huys (AUT).  Denzot (FRA) and Kropkó  (HUN) and Hadhoum (FRA) tried to leave the group behind but at the end all together reached T2. French Denzot was the first to leave transition followed by all the other athletes. However after the first lap Behrens (GER) was imposing a fast pace over the others and only Casals (ESP) and Manson (SWE) could keep up with her. Julie Behrens claims victory of the Junior European Championship 2021 in Kitzbühel in 36:41, silver for Tilda Månsson (SWE) in 36:47 and bronze for María Casals Mojica (ESP) with the final time of 37:01.
In Final A junior men after a furious swim the first junior to leave T1 was Basanta (ESP) followed by Montez (POR), Dixon (GBR) and the rest of the group. The group reached all together T2 and this was the moment of the great fight for the finish. First athlete to leave transition was Montez (POR) followed by Graf and Töpper and by all the rest of the group. After first lap on the run Montez (POR), Graf (GER) and Dixon(GBR) were leading the race. the German Henry Graf  managed to increase his pace and reached the Finish Blue Arch alone.  He wins the junior European championship 2021 in Kitzbühel with the time of 33:36, silver medal in 36:47, for Daniel Dixon (GBR) and in bronze in 37:01, Alexandre Montez (POR).
