Antonio Fernández Arimany Elected President of World Triathlon
At the XXXVII World Triathlon Congress in Torremolinos, Spain, Antonio Fernández Arimany was elected President of World Triathlon, succeeding Marisol Casado after her 16-year tenure. The Congress also appointed new Executive Board members and leaders across nine Committees and Commissions.
In his address, Arimany pledged to lead triathlon into a new era, emphasizing inclusivity and collaboration. “I’m honored to take on this responsibility and will work to elevate triathlon for athletes, coaches, and communities alike,” he stated, recognizing Casado’s legacy and thanking the Spanish National Federation and all supporters of his vision.
The Congress unveiled the 2025 schedule, highlighting the Championship Finals in Wollongong, Multisport World Championships in Pontevedra, and a robust lineup of events across Para Triathlon, eSports, and winter disciplines.
