90 days to go until the Annual General Assembly in La Nucia

By Amé Venter | 06 Dec, 2020

A few weeks ago during the National Federation meeting on October the 30th date and venue for the Annual General Assembly (AGA) was announced. The event will be hosted in La Nucia on 6 and 7 March 2021. Europe Triathlon is hoping that by then it will be possible to meet, however there will certainly be a hybrid solution that includes both face to face and virtual. If this turns out not to be possible the solution will be to host the assembly completely virtual.

There is only 90 days to go until the Annual General Assembly (AGA). The AGA is usually connected to the main European Championships, the triathlon standard/Olympic distance. However, the scenario is different every year after the Olympics. Every four years after the Olympics, 2017, and now 2021 Europe Triathlon has elections for the board. This includes the elections for the position of president, two Vice Presidents, a treasurer and five Board members. Additionally, nominees can also be elected for the three committees: the development committee and the technical committee, where seven people can be elected, as well as the audit committee where three people can be elected.

In these four year cycles the AGA is planned to take place earlier in the year to allow the newly elected member of the board and Committees to start at the beginning of the year.

In Europe Triathlons Articles of Association it is written what the agenda of the AGA needs to be shared with and the affiliated NFs 90 days prior to the AGA, which is today. 60 Days prior to the AGA the affiliated NFs has to return their resolutions and their nominees, and this will allow Europe triathlon to share the final agenda 30 days prior to the meeting.
