Triathlon has lost one of its dearest family members

ETU President, Renato Bertrandi:

It is with the greatest sadness that I received this morning the tragic news of the passing of a dear friend, a truly dedicated man of our sport and a person who has dedicated his life to the promotion of our sport from grass-roots up to Elite.

Péter Klosz will be remembered for his vision. He led the team that delivered the most successful and well-attended Multisport Festival, European Cups, Winter Triathlon and off-road races on our calendar in Europe.

He was a man who led by example and for whom people were clearly very keen to “walk an extra mile”.

As Secretary General and then, from 2015 as President for Triathlon Romana, Péter has been seen as a trainer, as a Technical Official and as a hard-worker wherever he travelled. His complete dedication to promoting the sport, to making it bigger and better not only for Romanian athletes of all ages and abilities but also for ETU, been an effective Member of our Development Committee.

He leaves a massive gap in our Triathlon Family.

Peter, we will all miss you.
