Race Calendar Update

Three events confirmed but The European Middle Distance, Aquabike and Aquathlon Championships is cancelled.

The delegates of the recent Extraordinary General Meeting were given a short update on our events calendar for the remainder of the year.

We have three confirmed events starting with Riga, Olsztyn and the European Championships in Tartu plus a further 10 events which we hope will take place in September to provide an exciting end to the triathlon season.

Sadly, the COVID-19 pandemic has led to the cancellation of the ETU Challenge Bled Middle Distance Triathlon Championships and the associated events (Aquabike and Aquathlon). We have been advised by Triatlonska zveza Slovenije (the Slovenian National Triathlon Federation) that due to overriding concerns about financial implications, coupled with the fear and uncertainty of a possible second wave of the virus they have taken the difficult decision to cancel this European Championship race.

We would like to thank Triatlon Slovenije and the LOC for all the work they have done behind the scenes to try and keep this event on the calendar but have to unfortunately confirm that this event will not now take place. We know this will be very disappointing to all concerned but especially the athletes.

We urge National Federations to keep an eye on our website and social media channels for updates and would recommend that any accommodation and flight bookings are not made until the deadline dates for final confirmation as detailed above.
