3rd 2017 ETU Athlete Development Camp: Panevėžys, Lithuania

ETU is fully focused on offering the best development for athletes and coaches. The very next opportunity will see a Development Camp take place at the very same venue as the ETU Youth triathlon Festival.

What better way to prepare for the Youth Festival than to attend the Development Camp?

Here is the news from Željko Bijuk, our ETU Development Coordinator.

ETU are happy to be able to announce that the 3rd 2017 ETU Athlete Development Camp will be held in Panevėžys, Lithuania. A squad of max 40 athletes & coaches from emerging and developing ETU national federations will be selected to participate in the camp under the guidance of an outstanding staff made up of top level international triathlon coaches after the ETU Youth triathlon Festival.

Please refer to the attached document for further details as well as the application forms for the athletes as well as the coaches who wish to attend as mentor coaches.


Briefly the details are as follows:

DATES: 17 July - 23 July 2017

VENUE:  Panevėžys, Lithuania (closest international airports: Kaunas-LTU or Riga-LAT)

COSTS: Athletes & coaches accompanying athletes can use NF’s development budget to cover travel expenses.
All other costs including accommodation, meals and ground transport will be covered by ETU.

SELECTION OF ATHLETES: National Federations must take note of the following:
o   Athletes must be born in 2000, 2001 & 2002.
o   Athletes must be selected by their NFs to compete at European Youth Championships in Panevėžys.
o   If a NF nominates more than one athlete then they need to be submitted in priority order.
o   Once the names have been submitted on the required application form a selection committee will then select the final 30 candidates invited to attend the camp in Panevėžys.
o   Closing date for application is: June 15th 2017.
o   Only athletes from NFs in category 2 or 3 are eligible.

NOMINATION OF MENTOR COACHES: National Federations are invited to nominate a coach to attend and participate in the camp in a mentoring role.
o   Nominated coaches should be actively working with national federation athletes.
o   Nominated coaches must be prepared to form part of the coaching staff for the camp.
o   ETU will cover all costs of accommodation, meals and ground transport of all of the coaches selected to participate.
o   Closing date for application is: June 15th 2017.
