The excitement is building up as one of the most anticipated triathlon races is about to take place in Quarteria, Portugal, this weekend.

After years of successful events, this year promises to be even better with some of the biggest names in the sport ready to compete for the top spot. On Saturday the elite’s and on Sunday the juniors will race, an action packed weekend!

One of the biggest stars of the sport, Jonathan Brownlee, is all set to compete in this weekend’s triathlon race in Quarteria. Brownlee is a British triathlete who is known for his speed and endurance. He has won numerous medals, including gold in the 2012 ITU World Triathlon Series, and a streak of gold, silver and bronze at various Olympics! Fans are eagerly anticipating Brownlee’s performance, and many are wondering if he will add yet another victory to his impressive resume. Brownlee’s performance will surely be one of the highlights of this weekend’s event. Another athlete to watch out for is Gustav Iden. Iden is a Norwegian triathlete who won the Ironman World Championship in Kona in 2022…on top of top level short course racing throughout the year. Many believe he has a great chance of winning this weekend’s race.

Cassandre Beugrand is a French triathlete who has been performing consistently well in recent years. She is known for her running abilities and has the capacity to beat all the best on her day! One to look out for this weekend. To top that off, Kate Waugh will also be racing. She is a British triathlete who is an upcoming promising star of the sport, she’s been training hard over the winter and is ready to showcase her form here in Quarteira.

There are many other great athletes out there ready to compete in the elite races and we can’t wait to see what will happen! In the European Junior Cup on the Sunday, some of the best risings stars of our sport, such as Joao Nuno Batista and Lea Houart, are ready to go all out and fight for the top spot of the podium.
