Margareta Vrablova and Luca Luberti take gold at European Junior Cup Račice

In the stunning Labe Aréna Račice, the Czech National Olympic Centre of Water Sports it took place the European Junior Cup this Sunday. Perfect weather conditions for the athletes racing allowed the competition to be a successful event for everyone, thanks to the Loc, volunteers and Technical Officials who did an amazing effort to permit to our young athletes to compete in these particularly hard times of the pandemic.
In the Junior men first out of water was Péter Molnár and Hóbor Zalán (HUN) and Probert Varga (MEX), followed by Hostrup Sahlberg (DEN), Luca Luberti (SUI), Michálek Šimon and Marek Matej (CZE), Alon Cohen (ISR). After T1 a leading group of about 16 athletes formed and kept together till the end of the bike. In T2 Molnár (HUN) was the first to leave transition followed on his heels by team companion Hóbor and by home athlete Šimon Michálek, Luberti (SUI) and Cohen (ISR). It was the perfect day for the Swiss athlete Luca Luberti who with an amazing running performance took the lead of the race and crossed the blue carpet alone claiming this important victory for his future career.



Luca Luberti (SUI) takes gold with the time of 52:13, in silver Hostrup Sahlberg (DEN) 52:22 and bronze for Probert González (MEX) in 52:32.
In the Junior women after the swim, Tabea Huys (AUT) was the first woman with a stunning swim, on the blue carpet in 9:54, followed by Aviv Levi (ISR) 9:57, Margareta Vrablova (SVK) 9:58 and Barbara De Koning in 9:59.

These four athletes tried to escape from the chasers during the bike but at the end a full group of athletes entered T2. Margareta Vrablova in the final run with phenomenal running skills immediately took the lead and managed to win with a fabulous 22 seconds of advantage from the strong De Koning and 45 seconds from home athlete Prikrylova. Second success on a row for Margareta Vrablova after Tiszy with the time of 58:15. Second place for Barbara De Koning (NED) in 58:37 and third place for Dana Prikrylova (CZE) in 58:56.
