Madrid, 31 May 2005.- 2005 ITU Madrid World Cup, which will be held next 5 June at Casa de Campo, will ask for the ISO 14001 Certification, which standardizes the requirements of environmental politics in companies and events. Last year, ITU Madrid World Cup already obtained the ISO 14001 Certification.

The ISO 14001 Certification is conceded after the evaluation of DVN (Det Norske Veritas), a Norwegian company that studies and analyzes environmental details before, during and after the event to certify all the environmental protection and respect of Casa de Campo.

For the second year in a row, the Ecoflag is going to wave in 2005 ITU Madrid World Cup. The Ecoflag, conceded by the World Sport Alliance, is a project created and developed with the support of the United Nations Environmental Program (PNUMA).

When the Ecoflag waves in a sport event, all the athletes and organizers compromise to care the environment while they are competing. Environmental protection and respect is one of the main aims of Madrid candidacy to host the 2012 Olympic Games.
