Reflecting on the 2023 Europe Triathlon Junior Season

By media@europe.triathlon.org | 24 Nov, 2023

This year marked a significant milestone for the Europe Triathlon Junior Cup series, with the introduction of the Rising Stars initiative. This initiative aimed to spotlight the emerging talents in our sport and share the inspiring stories of these young athletes who could potentially become the next Olympic Champions. Our commitment is to support junior athletes across the continent as they strive to achieve their dreams, whether it’s securing a podium at one of our European Cup events or aiming for victory in the world junior championships. The Rising Stars initiative is an ongoing project, and we are excited to unveil more very soon. Check out this year’s content on our Instagram, YouTube, and risingstarstri.com

Now, let’s take a look back at the highlights of the 2023 season and applaud the achievements of our top performers in the year-long rankings for both male and female athletes, as well as recognizing the nation that excelled the most.

Female Top 3:

Our 2023 Europe Triathlon Junior Rankings Women’s winner is Margareta Vrablova from Slovakia. We had the privilege of creating a short documentary highlighting her journey, including insights from her coach and father. You can watch the documentary here: https://youtu.be/bqJ0n4VWr68?si=KUSb3yQg7aXLIm9i

In second place, we have Romina Nadas from Hungary and securing the third spot is Alejandra Seguí Soria from Spain.

The best performing nation of 2023 was Hungary with some incredible performances and consistency across the whole year of racing. In second place with a strong performance was Spain and in third with some of the top athletes in the World of 2023, was France. What a year for all of these nations who have so much to look forward to in the coming years with so many Rising Stars of our sport.
