Are you racing in Lisbon ? Does your National Federation know ?

By Paul Groves | 08 Feb, 2016

This year, our “Big One” will be in Lisbon. We had record numbers of athletes in Geneva and a truly magnificent experience for all. With the stunning setting of Lisbon and with memories of Portuguese domination in 2008 by Vanessa Fernandes, we are looking forwards to the end of May.

The end of May ???

Is it that close?

Yes, it is. So what we all need is for the National Federations to provide some estimations of numbers of athletes due to attend. We are asking for this so that the Local Organising Committee can ensure the correct level of delivery. An event as big as the ETU European Triathlon Championships is not something that happens in the couple of weeks before the event. A strong team from the LOC, along with the Federação de Triatlo de Portugal and with the assigned Technical Delegates Lorand Kalotai (HUN), Miguel Alejandro Fernandez Vazquez (ESP) has been working since last summer to ensure that the event is a success.

We are particularly keen to know how many Age Group athletes are planning to participate in the Sprint and Standard events.

National Federations, please send your estimated team size (All categories) to eurotri2016@federacao-triatlo.pt (copied to kalotai.lorand@gmail.com and mijelalejandro@yahoo.es)

Let’s make 2016 a truly successful year.
