By David Peddie | 26 Jun, 2012

The European Triathlon Union returns to the Baltics this weekend with the Junior European Cup in Kupiskis, Lithuania.

Following the successful ETU Baltic Championships last year, the ETU are delighted to once again support and promote Triathlon in the Baltics.

Darius Borisas, of the Lithuania Triathlon Federation, said: “Firstly, we would like to express our gratitude to the ETU for their trust in us. Every year, after each race, we are gaining more experience which we use to develop better events.

“We would like to celebrate the fact that ETU Junior Cup will be the biggest triathlon event in Lithuania.

“This is a great opportunity for our native athletes to see how they fit at European level. It will be a big motivation for them to compete.”

The start list is dominated by Baltic nations such as Belarus, Estonia and Latvia with other Eastern European nations such as Ukraine, Russia and Poland also represented.

On the same day as the ETU Junior European Cup there will be an Open Baltic Triathlon Championship and Lithuanian Championships.
